4 Main Duas that we must make during the Month of Ramadan

1. The Dua’ when you Sight the Cresent of the Month1

Allahu Akbar, allaahumma ahillahu ‛alaynaa bil-amni wal-eemaani, was-salaamati wal-islaami, wat-tawfeeqi limaa tuḥibbu watarḍaa, rabunaa wa rabbuk-allaahu

Allah Is the Greatest, O Allah, let the crescent loom above us in peace and faith, safety and Islam, and in agreement with all that You love and pleases You. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.

2. The Dua’ that should be Recited during the Breaking of the Fast2

dhahab-adh-dhama’u, wabtallat-il-‛urooqu, wa thabat-al-ajru in shaa’ allaah

The thirst has gone and the veins are moist, and reward is assured, if Allah wills.

Note: Any other personal dua a person might want to make can be said as well at the time of Iftaar.

3. The Dua’ when you are Breaking Your Fast at Someone’s Place3

afṭara ‛indakum-uṣ-ṣaa’imoona wa akala ṭa‛aamakum-ul-abraaru, wa ṣallat ‛alaykum-ul-malaa’ikah

May the fasting (people) break their fast in your home, and may the dutiful and pious eat your food, and may the angels send prayers upon you.

4. The Dua’ for the Night of Power4

Allaahumma Innaka ‛afu-wun tuḥibul ‛afwa fa‛afu ‛anni

O Allah, You are pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.
